Avoiding Unintended Pregnancy

A woman can get pregnant during the menopause transition. This is a time when women can experience an unintended pregnancy. Some women get confused because their periods are not regular anymore and they think they are less fertile. But sexually active women who don’t want to get pregnant need to continue to use birth control until they’ve gone a full 12 months without a period.
