Although all contraceptive methods are highly effective, sometimes things don’t go exactly as we planned. That’s why emergency contraception is so important. Because their effectiveness is time sensitive — they work better the sooner you take them — our advice is to have emergency contraceptive pills on hand in case you need them. Better to reach in the cabinet than to drive around town while the clock is ticking.
